Cath Marcangelo

Choir Director and Leader

Cath is a featured vocalist with award winning Fatchopsbigband and her quintet performs at Jazz and Blues festivals all over the UK and abroad. 

 

Cath has over 25 years experience as a professional singer working with her many bands and as a soloist in all fields of the business. Her jazz trio has played onboard the world’s major luxury cruise lines. She has appeared with many notable performers including Jack Jones, Fat chops Big band, Mac Frampton & The Hollywood Hills Orchestra in the U.S. and was recently a guest on BBC Radio 4’s “Soul Music”. She was also a guest of TV comedian and chef Hardeep Singh Kohli on the award winning Nearly Naked Chef show at Rosehill Theatre. 

 

In 2008 Cath decided to share her love of vocal harmony and began a choir in Whitehaven, Cumbria. After the success of her Whitehaven choir, Cathy decided to begin a new journey with two more choirs - Keswick and Penrith. All three choirs have been hugely successful. 

 

 

Barbara Kenmare

 Sound Engineer

Barbara Kenmare has been in the music business for 50 years as a singer.

Her childhood band "The Macaulay's" won the prestigious ITV talent show New Faces back in the 70's with Babs (as she likes to be known) on accordion and vocals. She was accompanied by her brother and sister.

This lead to bookings at prestigious venues all over the UK.

 

Since then Babs has worked continuously as a solo cabaret artist and now performs with her all girl harmony group Divaz 3.

 

She has been an avid supporter of Committed 2 Rock since its outset and is proud to be their tech support and sound engineer plus she is always at hand, helping train new melody lines.

 

 

Jacqui Knowles

Choir Co-ordinator

Jacqui Knowles’ long career in show business started when she became a professional dancer and then dance captain, working in the theatre, in cabaret and on television, appearing with stars like Gerry and the Pacemakers, Des O’Connor, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Ronnie Corbett and Alan Price. After moving to Cumbria she formed a dance school, working for many years teaching hundreds of local children and training many County Champions. She organized  annual dance festivals in West Cumbria, choreographing many successful shows and providing direction and guidance to amateur and youth theatre groups.

 

Jacqui joined Committed to Rock in 2008, is Choir Coordinator for all the organizations Choirs as well as performing regularly with them and featuring as a soloist.
